Scott Lopez - Head Coach
Coach Lopez is a 1986 Vacaville High School graduate. While at Vacaville High School, he participated in football and tack and field for four years. He played tight end, defensive end, and was the place kicker. He earned special teams' player of the year and was honorable mention all league as a lineman his senior year. He was a 50 foot shot putter and competed at the sectional meet his junior and senior year. He currently hold's the record for points (points gained throughout the game, using a grading system) at over 4,000. He was a member of the 1985 section runner-up team that went 11-3. After attending Vacaville High School, Coach Lopez attended American River College playing defensive end. He was voted "Tenacious player" his second year there. He then went on to play at Whitworth University in Spokane Washington. He was a two year captain and honorable selection as a defensive end. He also participated in track and field while at Whitworth.
Coach Lopez started his coaching career at American River College. He coached the shot put and discus from 1996-2000. He also coached football from 1996-2003. His is currently the Junior Varsity head coach.
Coach Lopez has two children, daughter Parker and son Beau. His girl friend is Julie and her daughter is Chloe. Coach Lopez's parents graduated from Vacaville High School and have worked in the Vacaville Unified School District. Coach Lopez's grandfather designed the first face masks for Vacaville High. He also made braces for wrists and shoulders for Vacaville High athletes. Coach Lopez attended his first Vacaville High game in 1970 when he was two years old. Coach Lopez has two brothers Perry, Shay and a sister Tracy He is currently an high school PE teacher.
Coach Wingert is a 2001 Vacaville High School graduate. While at Vacaville High School, he participated in football, basketball, and rugby. He was a quarterback, kicker, and punter and earned All-League Honors in all three postions his senior year. He was an infielder and catcher on the baseball team. While on the Blackdog Rugby Team, he played 8-man while being voted captain his senior year. After attending Vacaville High School, Coach Wingert attended Shasta and Solano Community Colleges before earning a spot as a punter at Cal Berkeley.
Coach Wingert has a special distinction of being a part of Championship Teams in High School, Jr College, and Division1 football, where VHS, Solano, and Cal won the Monticello Empire, Bay Valley, and Pac-10 Championships respectively.
He has 14 years of coaching experience, which began when he was 12 years old. Scott's coaching areas of emphasis are in offense and special teams.
Coach Wingert is currently a student and athletics trainer specializing in football skill postions and specialsists. He is also beginning a career in graphic sports imaging. Scott has a daughter named Kylie Anne.
Dave Davis - Defensive Coordinator
Coach Davis attended Vacaville High, California High School and Country High School. While attending these high schools's he participated in football, wrestling, baseball and golf. After attending these high school's he attending Solano College and played football. Coach Davis started coaching youth baseball in 1998. He has coached youth baseball, basketball, volleyball and football. He has worked with football players from Pee-Wee to Junior College. Dave had been married to his wife Anonella for over 15 years. They have 3 children Dylan, Sonia and Mariah.

Armondo Perez - Assistant Coach
Coach Perez attended Liberty Union High School as well as Pittsburg Senior High School. While in high school, Coach Perez participated in football, track and wrestling. After high school he attended respiratory therapy school. He received his AA degree from Solano Community College in business management and administration. Coach Perez was a grammar school coach in 1976 and 1977 of flag football, track and basketball. He has spent 23 years coaching Pop Warner football with the bulldogs. Coach Perez has been a member of the Vacaville High Freshman staff for over 5 years.
Coach Peres is currently a respiratory care practitioner at John Muri medical center in Concord. He has two kids, Yolanda and Armondo Jr. He also has five grand children Alex, Elias, Jillian, Nick, Brittney.
Coach Perez has also been involved in many community services. He originated and spearheaded building of the youth football field at Al Patch Park in Vacaville and was a Core Foundation member to build Vaca Valley Hospital. He has also been voted a Vacaville Angel and is a CPR instructor in the community.
Joe Cooney - Assistant Coach
Coach Cooney is a 1993 graduate from Vacaville High School. While at Vacaville High, Coach Cooney played all fours year (freshman year at Jepson). He also played Rugby for two years and was on the California Cup championship team his junior year. After graduating from Vacaville High, Coach Cooney attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he majored in Social Science with a minor Anthropology and Geography. He received his Masters/credentials in Education from UOP.
Coach Cooney is currently a World/US History teacher at Willis Jepson Middle School. He has been teaching as well as coaching for over five years. He is also the 8th grade basketball coach at Willis Jepson Middle School and is the discus coach for the Vacaville High School track and field team.
Coach Cooney philosophy is to live life, enjoy life and keep striving to be the best you can be. He also stated that "I teach and coach for the satisfaction of seeing my student athletes succeed".
Mike Fortunato - Assistant Coach
Coach Fortunato is a 1980 Vacaville High School graduate. While at Vacaville High School, he participated in football, basketball, and tennis. He was a quarterback and earned All-League as a punter. He was a forward on the basketball team and the number one ranked tennis player at Vaca High throughout his high school career. After attending Vacaville High School, Coach Fortunato attended Cal Berkeley on a football scholarship as a punter.
He has 25 years of coaching experience, which began in 1983. Mike has coached numerous sports including: football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. Coach Fortunato is the owner of the Varsity Grill restaurant in town after 23 years in the beverage industry. Mike is married to wife Michelle and have four children: Michaela, Frankie, Beth, and Vinny.
