Adam Wight Co-Head Freshman Coach
 | Coach Wight is a 1996 graduate from Mt. Carmel high school located in San Diego, California. He was an all league guard and defensive tackle in football. He also participated in wrestling and track & field. Coach Wight is a graduate from UC Davis in 2000 and received his masters in 2001 from University of Pennsylvania.
He teaches English at Vacaville High School. Coach Wight has been coaching football and wrestling the past 7 years. In 2007, he guided the Bulldogs to the California state championship in wrestling. Coach Wight is married to Betsy and father to Bradyn (born April 2008).

Mike Sullivan Co-Head Freshman Coach

Vacaville High School graduate (1974); played for Tom Zunino.
Graduate of California State University, Sacramento (Journalism/English).
Spent 20 years in the newspaper business before becoming a teacher.
15 years coaching football and track & field at Vaca High.
10th year as a teacher at Vaca High.
Married for 25 years to Kelle Byerley Sullivan (Fairfield, 1975).
Daughter, Megan (CSUS); Son, Buck (Oklahoma); both were VHS athletes.
Mike Sullivan is a graduate of Vacaville High School (Class of 1974). He played for Coach Zunino and was an offensive and defensive lineman on the first Section Championship (formerly known as the Capital City Championship) team in 1973. Coach Sully is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento in Journalism/English. He spent 20 years in the newspaper business before becoming a teacher. He has coached both football and Track and Field at VHS for the past 15 years. This marks his 10th year as a teacher at his alma mater, while also accepting a postion as Student Activities Director in 2006. He's been married to his wife Kelle for 25 years. They have two children who are both former Bulldog Alumni Student Athletes. Their daughter Megan is now studying at Sacramento State while Buck attends the University of Oklahoma.

Sanford Graves Assistant Coach
 | Coach Sanford is a graduate of Atascadero High School. While at Atascadero High School, he participated in baseball, football, basketball. He was named to the all county defense and was named player of the week eight times and named defensive player of the year. His football team won the CIF league championship two times.
Coach Sanford has coached 1 year of football at Atascadero High School, 3 years of youth soccer, 1 year of youth basketball, 8 years little league baseball and 4 years of traveling baseball.
Coach Sanford is owner of S-N-S construction. He is married to Janet Graves. He has three kids, Melanie, Amy, Sanford Lee Graves IV.

Jim Post Assistant Coach
 | Coach Post attended Kubasaki High School, Japan from 1976-1977. In 1979 he graduated from Fairfield High School. Coach Post was a member of the football team while at Kubasaki and Fairfield. He was honored as the most improved player at defensive tackle. Coach Post attended Solano Community College for one year. Coach Post's coaching career consists of coaching the senior powder puff team to a 28-0 win over the juniors in 1979. He has coached little league baseball 4 years, Vacaville roller hockey 2 years, youth football 5 years, freshman football 4 years, 1 season Fairfield blue knights PAL football.
Coach Post has worked at Albertsons/Savemart as a receiving supervisor the past 28 years. He is married to his wife Tami Post. He has three sons who graduated from Vacaville High, Zane (2003), Zev (2006), Zachary (2007).
Coach post is also a season ticket holder for the Oakland Raiders, an avid Matt Kenseth-NASCAR fan. He has also played recreation softball the past 20 years.

Rich Penaluna Assistant Coach

Coach Penaluna was born and raised in Vacaville and attended Vacaville High School from September, 1959 to June, 1963.
He started playing football under Jay Acklin and was a member of Tom Zunino's first two football teams in '61 and '62.
Rich went to Chico State College and played football his freshman year, but ended his athletic career at Chico State as the heavyweight boxer in 1967 and 1968. While attending Chico, Rich married Darlene Granger, also from Vaca High, in the fall of 1967.
After working for Wells Fargo Bank for a short time, Rich found his first teaching job teaching English at Merced High School. While down in Merced Rich and Darlene had two children: Jarrett, a son, born in 1970 and Eryne, a daughter, born in 1973.
In 1975 in Auburn, California, Rich started coaching football for the Placer High School Hillmen. Rich learned a great deal of football in a very successful program lead by Bill Miller and Tom Johnson.
In 1983, the Penaluna family returned to Vacaville and Rich started teaching English and coaching varsity football under his former head coach, Tom Zunino. Boy, how the football program had changed in 20 years. There was even more football to learn under his mentor. And, in 1985, Rich became an assistant wrestling coach under Larry Nelson.
Coach Penaluna coached offensive ends and defensive ends at first and then shifted to running backs and the defensive backs. When Coach Zunino retired, Rich became the defensive coordinator under Fred Jones and continued to coach football until 2001.
Coach Penaluna became the Head Wrestling Coach in 2000 and left the football program in 2001. As Head Wrestling Coach, Penaluna won 5 MEL Championships, 7 Dual and Team Sac-Joaquin Section Championships and Placed 5th (2003) and 4th (2005) in the CIF State Championships. Penaluna coached two state Champions and 19 CIF State Placers.
Coach Penaluna retired as Wrestling Coach in 2005 and retired from teaching in 2008. He enjoys his time with his wife of 41 years, Darlene, his two children and his four grandsons. Unfortunately the grand children do not live in Vacaville and, at this time, it does not look they will be Bulldogs.
Penaluna is still active in coaching wrestling for the Vacaville Youth Wrestling Program and has returned to football, helping with the freshman football team, focusing on defensive backs.

Mike Fortunato Assistant Coach
 | Coach Fortunato is a 1980 Vacaville High School graduate. While at Vacaville High School, he participated in football, basketball, and tennis. He was a quarterback and earned All-League as a punter. He was a forward on the basketball team and the number one ranked tennis player at Vaca High throughout his high school career. After attending Vacaville High School, Coach Fortunato attended Cal Berkeley on a football scholarship as a punter.
He has 25 years of coaching experience, which began in 1983. Mike has coached numerous sports including: football, baseball, basketball, and tennis.
Coach Fortunato is the owner of the Varsity Grill restaurant in town after 23 years in the beverage industry. Mike is married to wife Michelle and have four children: Michaela, Frankie, Beth, and Vinny.

Scott Wingert Assistant Coach
 | Coach Wingert is a 2001 Vacaville High School graduate. While at Vacaville High School, he participated in football, basketball, and rugby. He was a quarterback, kicker, and punter and earned All-League Honors in all three postions his senior year. He was an infielder and catcher on the baseball team. While on the Blackdog Rugby Team, he played 8-man while being voted captain his senior year. After attending Vacaville High School, Coach Wingert attended Shasta and Solano Community Colleges before earning a spot as a punter at Cal Berkeley.
Coach Wingert has a special distinction of being a part of Championship Teams in High School, Jr College, and Division1 football, where VHS, Solano, and Cal won the Monticello Empire, Bay Valley, and Pac-10 Championships respectively.
He has 14 years of coaching experience, which began when he was 12 years old. Scott's coaching areas of emphasis are in offense and special teams.
Coach Wingert is currently a student and athletics trainer specializing in football skill postions and specialsists. He is also beginning a career in graphic sports imaging. Scott has a daughter named Kylie Anne.
