Vaca freshmen win football game

Nic Ardave threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as the Vacaville freshman football team cruised to a 40-6 win over visiting Monterey Trail.

Ardave had a 28-yard touchdown pass to Jared Paulin, a 36-yard to Kenyan Clay, a 24-yard to Jim Cheechov and a 40-yarder to Jeremy Monroe. Ardave also raced 24 yards for a touchdown on a quarterback keeper.

Tim Scott also had a touchdown on a 29-yard run.

Linebacker Jordan Whyel and defensive back Cade Weiss led the defense. Vacaville improved to 2-1 heading into next Tuesday's 4 p.m. game at Wood.
