FAIRFIELD -   Vacaville High School's football team scored 35 of its 42 points in the first half and rolled to a 42-6 win at Rodriguez on Friday night. Vacaville had 21 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second before a running clock took over the entire second half. The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 in the Monticello Empire League and 6-3 overall. They won their 25th straight league game and can win the title outright with a win over Will C. Wood next Friday in the Black and Blue Bowl. Vacaville rushed for 260 yards and added another 120 passing, dominating time of possession by having the ball on offense for nearly 35 of the 48 minutes in the game. Thirteen players got the chance to carry the ball for the Bulldogs. Demetrius Nunez had a 9-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Quarterback Chad Hekking had a 10-yard touchdown pass to Jeramy Sweany and a 36-yarder to Tanner Donaldson. Alberto Escobedo kicked a 24-yard field goal and had two extra points in the period. Daniel Mewborn had an 8-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Nunez went 1 yard for the second of two touchdowns as Vacaville led 35-0 at the break. Wyatt Faulkner rounded out Vacaville's scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Hekking finished 7-of-9 passing for 120 yards. Nunez was the leading rusher of a very balanced attack with 44 yards.
