Granite Bay scored on all six of its possessions in the first half and rolled to a 47-21 victory, ending Vacaville's 14-game winning streak. "We had our chances to convert early and we didn't," Vacaville head coach Mike Papadopoulos said. "They converted on all of their chances. They did a great job." The Grizzlies rolled up 467 yards of offense, with 367 of those coming on the ground. Granite Bay pounded Vacaville with a big front line and strong running backs. Three different running backs scored. Vacaville trailed 40-6 at the half, with Granite Bay scoring on the final play of the second quarter on a 35-yard field goal by Colin Brown. "We knew what they were about. We just didn't have a good game," said Vacaville's Jacob Te'o. "It's devastating for us, especially since I'm a senior." Te'o scored Vacaville's first touchdown in the second quarter, when he caught a 29-yard TD pass from quarterback Nic Ardave. Curtis Goins scored in the third quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run, and David Mewborn added the final Bulldog touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 9-yard run. Vacaville finished with 454 yards of offense, 330 on the ground and 124 through the air. Vacaville fell to 2-1 overall. The Bulldogs will try to regroup next week when Oak Ridge comes to Tom Zunino Stadium for homecoming night. "That's one of the reasons we sign up to play teams like this," Papadopoulos added. They will make us better immediately."
